Dear Parent/Guardian,
All students who want to play an instrument in the band need to have an instrument to perform on. The school has a limited amount of instruments available for rental during the school year, at no cost. After the first year, if the student continues playing, the family is asked to provide their own instrument. Students that play flute, clarinet, oboe, alto sax, horn, or trumpet are required to provide their own instrument if the school does not have enough available. Students that play the larger instruments like the tenor sax, trombone, baritone, and tuba, are not asked to provide their own instrument. VMS will provide all of the larger instruments.
If you would like to have the use of a school-owned band instrument for the school year, please fill out attached form and return it to Mr. Pakaluk. There is a rental form that you will sign after your child gets assigned an instrument. Please talk with your child about proper care of the instrument. I’m looking forward to a great year of music-making.
